Susan and Tony’s Wedding – Sorrel River Ranch – Moab, Utah

November 18th, 2011

Susan and Tony had a beautiful wedding in Moab, Utah at the Sorrel River Ranch. The leaves had just turned and the weather was perfect, so we got an awesome show of color that only the Utah desert can provide. Susan and Tony were not planning to do a first dance, so I asked them to do a private dance for me in the sunset.

Susan wore a gown from Alta Moda Bridal of Salt Lake City. Wireless music wizardry was provided by Mark from Domus Audio Video. Catering and venue: Sorrel River Ranch (more vendors soon – don’t have my info with me!)

Utah at it’s Finest

April 17th, 2011

Last Sunday Leah and I shared one of our best days in Utah with my sister in law Liz and her boyfriend Dylan. We started the day skiing powder at Snowbird after a 30″ storm, then drove to Moab and made it in time for the sunset. I took this photograph that evening in Arches National Park in The Garden of Eden, and it combines these two landscapes – the dry desert red rocks with the snowy peaks of the La Sals in the background.

Labyrinth Canyon River Trip

Here are some pictures from the river trip I took with some friends at the end of April.  We floated down Labyrinth Canyon on the Green River for four days.  The paddling was very mellow for the most part and we all had a great time.  I enjoyed having some time to take photographs in the desert!

On our fourth night we all took sun showers with our surplus water.  Everyone was feeling relatively clean so I took a group portrait, dogs and all.  We ate very well every day – that night we had grilled ahi tuna and pineapple over a green salad.
