Jodi and Mark’s Wedding – Calgary, Alberta

August 19th, 2010

Jodi and Mark’s wedding took place at a private residence in Calgary, Alberta.  It was an intimate wedding ceremony and reception with only about forty or so guests – just close friends and family.

There was a threat of thunderstorms that never materialized, and the light was gorgeous all evening.  We did have to take a few breaks from the formal portraits to kill the mosquitoes that had accumulated though.

Croquet and Bocce Ball took the place of dancing at the reception – it was very comfortable outside, a welcome escape from the heat of Salt Lake City in July.

It is always interesting to experience a foreign culture – for example the warnings on Canadian cigarette packs are a little bit more graphic!

The rest of the photographs will be available online soon for viewing and printing, you can sign up with your email address here to be notified when they are ready.

Lobster Three Ways – Ogunquit, Maine

August 16th, 2010

We enjoyed the lobster in a number of fashions – they make great toys for my five month old niece Rylee, they are delicious steamed with a little bit of lemon and butter, and the next day in a bisque.  The bisque is my favorite – I take all the leftover shells and simmer a stock all day long to get the essence of the lobster flavor, then finish it off with a little bit of leftover lobster meat, sparkling wine, and cream.

Stones Found On The Beach – Ogunquit, Maine

August 12th, 2010

The stones on the beach in Ogunquit are beautiful – colorful, patterned, smooth and rounded from years of being tossed in the surf.  Leah took a few home in her just under regulation weight suitcase; I just took a few pictures of my favorites.
