This is John Vanderslice and his band performing at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City, Utah. I don’t listen to his recordings much, but I have seen him twice and he puts on amazing live shows. They played a few songs out by the fire pit in the courtyard for the encore.
It’s going to be live music week on my blog this week. The romantic wedding photos will have to wait. This is Okkervil River performing at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City, Utah on 9/13/2007. If you live in Salt Lake City, like music, but have never been to Kilby Court you need to get yourself out there! I’ve been to shows like this one where there is hardly any room to stand and others attended by less than a dozen people. Shows are usually less than $10 and are always a really intimate listening experience.
If you’re starting to think that I might be obsessed with coffee, you’re absolutely right! On the left is a cup from Blue Star Coffee in Winooski, Vermont, and on the right, from Cafe Tazza in Taos, New Mexico.
I’m on a coffee kick – I try to find good coffee wherever I am. On the left is an espresso I enjoyed in Mbabane, Swaziland and on the right is an espresso from Cafe Continental in Maputo, Mozambique. Leah and I traveled to Swaziland, South Africa and Mozambique before I started this blog, so I don’t have many pictures from that trip here. More coffee. Every day, twice a day, and it often looks cool – so I have quite a collection of coffee pictures. This one was in Calgary, Alberta on my trip for Mark & Jodi’s wedding.
