More coffee. Every day, twice a day, and it often looks cool – so I have quite a collection of coffee pictures. This one was in Calgary, Alberta on my trip for Mark & Jodi’s wedding.

I love my coffee – and I often take photographs of it. I prefer it black and strong – the Volunteer Park Cafe in Seattle’s Capitol Hill Neighborhood brews a nice cup to go with their delicious goodies (not pictured – already consumed!).
Spoon at In The Venue in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 7, 2010. I love to go hear and shoot live music.
The Hora (a traditional Jewish wedding dance) is one of my favorite wedding traditions to photograph! From Jen and Jeff’s wedding yesterday at Deer Valley’s Silver Lake Lodge in Park City, Utah.
Alex and Jay celebrated their wedding at All Souls Interfaith Gathering in Shelburne, Vermont. Alex and Jay live in Denver, Colorado, but Alex’s parents live just a few minutes away from All Souls, so it was very convenient to have the wedding at this beautiful location overlooking Lake Champlain.
After getting ready at her family’s house, Alex met Jay under the apple trees before the ceremony. I recommend this to all of my wedding clients – it is a really exciting moment and makes for some very emotional photographs. It also calms the nerves a bit and since a lot of the formal family pictures can be done before the ceremony, the bride and groom are free to celebrate with friends after walking down the aisle.
Now that I live in Utah I am accustomed to shooting in the bright sunlight but the overcast conditions were a nice change of pace, and made the cocktail hour out on the lawn very comfortable.
Alex and Jay’s wedding happened to be on the anniversary of her parents’ wedding, so Alex surprised them with an anniversary cake that they cut at the same time.
My east coast weddings have been surprisingly dry this year, but when the time came for Alex and Jay’s exit it was absolutely pouring rain. Alex’s father surprised them with a chauffeured vintage car to take them away, which made for a very cinematic exit combined with the raindrops.
The complete set of Alex and Jay’s wedding photographs will be available for viewing and ordering prints soon. You can sign up here to be notified by email when they are ready.
